Board Members

The McLean County Veterans Assistance Board is made up of elected delegates and alternates from member Veteran Service Organizations in McLean County. 

​

Qualifying Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) are organizations recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) to assist veterans, their families, and survivors with VA benefit claims, often free of charge. Key organizations include the American Legion, VFW, DAV, AMVETS, Marine League, and Vietnam Veterans of America. 
 

All Executive Board members have on file with the county Economic Interest reports, and all members of the Board have completed the Open Meetings Act Training and certifications as required by State of Illinois Law.

GOVERNOR'S REPORT

In Illinois, the commander, quartermaster, or commandant of any veteran service organization, as well as the superintendent of any county Veterans Assistance Commission, is required to submit an annual report to the Governor by January 1st. This report highlights key transactions and activities deemed of interest to the organization and the people of the state. A copy is also shared with the president or chairperson of the county board and made accessible to the public online, ensuring transparency and accountability in serving Illinois veterans.
